The gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, says if voted into power in March, he would appoint a woman as the Secretary to State Government (SSG) as part of the measures to bridge gender inequality in government.
Sanwo-Olu made the pledge at an ongoing interactive session in Victoria Island organised by the Office of the Women Leader, Lagos State, themed ‘Enabling, Empowering and Promoting Women: Our Pact’.
The gubernatorial candidate said that enabling laws would be enacted to not only create more opportunities for women, but to protect them from unnecessary assaults, intimidations and multiple taxes in the course of their drive for survival in society.
