Adetunji Adeleye, the commander of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo state, has debunked a report that some villagers in some parts of Akoko land have begun to flee their homes, following incessant attacks suffered from the herdsmen-cum-bandits’ invasion.
According to the report, which said that some residents have raised concerns about the wherewithal of the Amotekun corps to overpower and take control of the areas that have become dominated by the herdsmen.
The report further said that despite the support from the state governments, the regional security outfit has continued to struggle to maintain and counter persistent attacks from the herdsmen.
But the Amotekun boss, Adeleye while reacting to the purported report in a text message sent to our Correspondent on Saturday in Akure said; “the four local governments in Akoko land is peaceful.”
According to him, “no kidnap or robbery in recent times. We are currently on 24-hrs, 7 days ember month patrol with huge success story.”
