Mohbad: Naira Marley, Sam Larry get N20m bail

Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry, were given N20 million in bail on Monday by a Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos State, subject to three responsible obligations.

On October 6, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two other people were arraigned and placed under remand for their suspected roles in the circumstances surrounding the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, a Nigerian musician.

The defendants were instructed by magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun to turn in their passports and to report every week to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti.

“As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” Olatunbosun ruled.

She cautioned against direct communication about the subject in question.

“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she added.
