Meristem launches new campaign, relieves own evolution in campaign theme

The financial services consumers in Nigeria now have something exciting to look forward to! Meristem, the nation’s leading financial services provider, is launching a corporate campaign which would debut on Monday, January 20, 2020.

The new campaign’s theme, which is anchored on partnership and destination, intensifies the essence of growth in life’s journey which is thematically lived in phases.

In so doing, Meristem, in an indirect storytelling format, mirrors its own phases of growth with a very strong emphasis on the role which partnership had played in its trajectory, having started business operations in 2004 as just a stock broking firm, and gradually morphing into a capital market conglomerate that now offers services in wealth management, financial advisory, trusteeship as well as registrars and probate management services.

Essentially, the campaign theme mirrors the organization’s founding core values and brand attribute of growth, and has a message for its actual and prospective clients as well as the general public. In any case, every human being requires financial services in one way or another and at any given phase of their life.

With this destination campaign, Meristem is wooing existing and prospective clients to a wide range of its diversified product and service offerings whilst making bold its ability and readiness to partner with people and businesses at any stage of their financial journey.

Speaking to the press in a private media chat, Oluwole Abegunde, Group Managing Director, Meristem said, “There’s no better time to kick off the campaign than at a time like this, where we are experiencing a rapidly expanding middle class and the entrants of the same category into the affluent bracket. From our inception, we have operated a client-oriented business which has helped us to create tailor-made financial solutions for our clients, some of which include Retirement Planning, Mutual Funds, Foreign denominated products like MeristemDollarInvestment Portfolio, Real Estate Advantage Portfolio and, more recently, Probate Management Service”. He further stated that “We will continue to be proactive with product innovation as the investment evolves which is a signal of our readiness for partnership, to take our clients to their desired financial destination”.

To pungently drive home the point on partnership and destination, the organization is working with a pair of celebrity influencers. These are: Art Curator and Connoisseur Nike Okundaye-Davies and renowned Fashion designer, Mai Atafo.

Speaking on the partnership Solape Akinpelu, Head Brand Management, Meristem highlighted that “The duo of Nike Okundaye-Davies and Mai Atafo are easily a perfect fit for the campaign message; in partnering with these pair of influencers we seek to solidify the benefits of partnership and tap into the potentials of a shared growth story as depicted in their different life endeavors.” She added that “Their story highlights their different backgrounds and the boldness that has elevated their career prospects albeit with partners who have jointly stayed true to their vision. At its core, our campaign elaborates that life’s journey requires partners to help you get to the desired financial destination.

It would be recalled that for the past 16 years Meristem has been consistent in value creation and innovation within the capital market space.

In June 2019, the company held its maiden edition of Green Fest; a festival of everything healthy, aimed at promoting a culture of healthy living. In 2018, the Nigerian Stock Exchange awarded Meristem the Best Digital Broker of the Year award. The company had, in 2018, become the first Nigerian asset management firm to attain compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) by the CFA Institute; while earlier (in 2017), it handled the single largest trade in the history of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The new campaign would, no doubt, further strengthen Meristem’s dominance in the industry in which it operates.
