The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates and the general public registering for the 2024 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) to desist from multiple registrations as offenders will be punished severely.
Ville Pius, the director of the Test Administration Department at JAMB, made this known in the board’s recent bulletin publication.
In her statement, Pius warned that any candidate found guilty of multiple registrations may be disqualified from writing the 2024 UTME and/or taken to court.
“Multiple registrations are not allowed in the 2024 UTME exercise; candidates who register more than once would be identified, disqualified, and prosecuted,” she said.
In her address to candidates who registered for the examination twice because of errors, the director said candidates with registration errors should proceed to JAMB for corrections instead of getting another form.
“In the event of any error during the registration process, candidates are to approach the board for necessary corrections rather than obtaining fresh application documents as they would be deemed to have engaged in multiple registrations, which could invalidate their applications,” the statement reads in part.
To prevent unnecessary registration errors, the director advised candidates to read and understand the various registration guidelines and instructions related to the board’s advertisement on registration, among others, on how to complete the registration process.
Besides, Pius reminded the concerned candidates that they should never give their details to anyone, including JAMB CBT registration centres.
These personal details include registration numbers, passwords, e-mail addresses, and e-PIN.
The director also reminded candidates that upon completing registration, they would be required to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on compliance with ethical standards guiding their applications.
JAMB commences 2024 UTME registration on Monday, January 15, and closes registration on Monday, February 26, 2024.
