Irish dairy giant, Ornua, recently donated €5,000 from its employee contributions through the Empowered Fund to Little Saints Orphanage in Lagos. This was also accompanied by various Kerrygold Avantage milk products as contributions to the education and health of children in the home.
Ornua believes that integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its business operations and strategy has gone further than laws and norms. Giving back to the society is a major part of its key values, the company noted.
Another beneficiary of this gesture is the Wings of Love Children Homes in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The event at the Little Saint orphanage was held on Wednesday 9 December, 2020 and was attended by the general manager, Ornua Nigeria, Tunde Afolabi; Finance manager, Christiana Adebayo; Commercial manager, Sola Bakare, and plant manager, Balaji Waghmare. The team was received by the founder, Christiana Bamidele George in the company of the administrator of education sponsorship, Maryann Akpan.
