AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq
A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, has urged the state Governor-elect, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to govern with fear of Allah when inaugurated.
He warned against needless witch-hunt that could derail smooth running of the affairs of the state, saying, the people of the state deserved better deal.
In a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin, Ajia enjoined the incoming government to be magnanimous in victory and shun acts that can overheat the polity.
The former governorship aspirant admonished the Governor-elect to engage in wide consultations with stakeholders on the best way to operate, which would leave no one in doubt that the incoming administration was prepared for the task ahead.
He equally called on the political class to see themselves as brothers irrespective of the political party they belong to, noting that most  important to Kwarans is quality of life.
The frontline politician stated that it would be unfair to gloss over frivolities but policies and programmes that would hasten development and improve the well being of the people.
Ajia, a Security Expert who is also the founder of Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation, appealed to the people of the state, particularly Muslim faithful to pray fervently for peace and tranquility as no progress could be attained in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
He described the ongoing Ramadan fast as a period for spiritual rebirth and rejuvenation, asking Muslims to be closer to Almighty Allah and pray for the incoming administration to succeed.
“We want to thank Almighty Allah for giving us, Muslim faithful, the enablement to be part of this year’s Ramadan fast, for many didn’t have the privilege, and this is the more reason why we need to be thankful to Him.
“And it is also very necessary that we thank Almighty God for the past event in the life of our dear State. The last general election has thought us some lessons. Now that we have a Governor-elect, may we urge him to face the task of governance and shun witch-hunt. We pray that Almighty Allah give him the guidance and direction to pilot the affairs of the state successfully”, Ajia said.
