A Kano High Court hearing the case involving the alleged suspension of the national chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Abdullahi Ganduje by executives of his Ward in Dawakin -Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state, has been adjourned to May 27, 2024.
The case with suit number K/M658/2024, which came up for mentioning Tuesday at Kano State High Court 4, presided over by Justice Usman Mallam Na `abba was adjourned, after the presiding judge listened to motions brought by lawyers, representing each of the parties in the dispute.
The Court had on April 17, 2024, in response to motion of ex-parte brought by the applicant in the case, ruled that the decision by the suspension of Ganduje should remain until the motion is determined.
In today’s proceeding, the presiding judge listened to Barrister Ibrahim Seed, representing the applicant, seeking an extension of the earlier ruling of the court. He also listened to Barrister Lydia O. Oyewo, representing the 4th defendant, Ganduje, who wanted to sustain her argument challenging the jurisdiction of the court over the matter, but, was cut short the judge.
Another lawyer, who want to be joined as respondent in the case, also made brief submission. On listening to them all, the judge, at the instance of the lawyers, then rule for an adjournment of the case to the new date.
Justice Na ‘abba noted that the decision to adjourn the case was to give all the lawyers representing the various parties in the dispute opportunity to properly present their respective arguments in support of the pending motions, before he can give a final ruling on each of the motions.
