The Chartered Institute of Corporate Mentoring and Coaching of Nigeria has honoured Vera James, with the award of Icon of Mentorship and Fellowship.
James is the principal consultant at Vera James GC Limited. Rotimi Matthew, the director-general of the Institute noted that the choice of James for the award was carefully conducted considering her contribution in the field of coaching and mentoring education and beyond.
According to Rotimi, the award is for distinguished individuals with pedigree and proven track record of positively influencing people and excelling in their field of endeavours, “to whom much is given much more is required, your experience is invaluable to the institute,” he told James. “Some deserve but not honoured, some are honoured but not deserving, today you are both deserving and honoured. Congratulations.”
In response, the awardee, Vera James, a certified management specialist and consultant from the London Graduate School and the Institute of Management Consultants Nigeria and a management team member of the Ask the Paediatricians Foundation thank the institute for recognising her efforts.
“I am honoured to be a recipient of an award from this great institute. I find purpose in mentoring people and helping them find structure and fulfilment in what they do,” she said. “It is a calling I have nurtured right from a very young age, and I intend to continue touching lives as long as God gives me grace.”
