Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, is expected in Lagos, to declare open the 19th edition of the National Women Conference.

Some 3,000 participants would be attending the conference which is being organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO).

Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of the Lagos State governor and chairman of COWLSO, who briefed the media, said the event would hold between October 22 and 24, 2019 at the Eko Hotel & Suites’ conference centre.

According to her, the theme of this year’s conference is “unlearn, learn and relearn: 21st century women’s T.H.E.M.E.S perspectives/approach.”

The theme, she added, was selected to empower women with skills to key into emerging opportunities being provided by the state government.

“As it is the tradition of the conference to empower women to contribute positively to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.

“We have lined up very eminent Nigerians and outstanding professionals to help our women come to terms with how best they can key into the emerging opportunities being provided by the government of the day in Lagos State,” Ibijoke said.
