Ahead of the presentation of the 2021 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly this week, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday declared open a two-day executive/legislature retreat.
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had last week announced that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) had approved the N13.08 trillion 2021 budget for onward transmission to the National Assembly.

The meeting is also coming on the heels of recent bickering between the executive and legislature.
The bickering emanated from lack of cooperation by some ministers with the lawmakers over budget defence.
Feelers from the meeting indicate that it is part of plans to work out smooth executive/legislature relationship for easy passage of the president’s memo by the lawmakers.
