Bisola Onigbogi, head business development at ARM Pension Managers speaking with a journalist after the run said “the ARM Run for the Future is multi-location, multi-period event that is held across the country. It is designed to enjoin our clients and potential clients to look beyond regular contributions and also think about life after contributions.”

He said “We are telling them that there is no need putting this money down together if you cannot have the good health to enjoy the money at retirement. So, we are encouraging the culture of exercise, and healthy leaving so that at retirement, you can still have a lot to go for.”

“This is the fifth edition. We have held it in Lagos, the second time this year. We have done in Abuja, we have done in Port Harcourt and we have also had mini-run across the universities in Nigeria.”

The event which has become like a Corporate Social Responsibility of the pension fund administrator to promote healthy leaving among its clients and the Nigerian public is assuming a bigger dimension with people looking out for it yearly.

On the impact to clients and perception about CPS, Onigbogi stated “For our customers, they can clearly see that we are not just here to collect their money, we also want to see that they are healthy and live a better life during work-life and retirement. From the feedback we are getting, we are even encouraged to invest more to sustain the programme and also make it more meaningful for our customers.”

According to him, when the Run For The Future Started about three years ago, “we had about 400 participants, but as at Saturday own, we had over 4,300 people registered for the run online, those people are here today, alongside many others who registered early this morning to join this run.”

“We will continue to do it; it can only get better because everybody sees the benefits of being healthy.
