In memory of the late Olalekan Ogunsola of TOS Funerals, the Olalekan Ogunsola Memorial Foundation has donated 40 automatic hospital beds and 100-bed sheets to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital ( LASUTH), Ikeja.
Presenting the items to the hospital, Taiwo Ogunsola, the Managing Director of TOS Funerals, said the gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of her firm and also to allay the suffering of patients in LASUTH.
Ogunsola added that the urge to give back to society stemmed from her gratitude to God and to the hospital for giving them an environment to thrive and use their expertise to serve.
She promised that the donation would be extended to the Gbagada General Hospital, Gbagada and the Mainland Hospital, Yaba where 100-bed sheets would be delivered to each of the hospitals.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, reiterated the need for well-meaning Nigerians to support the government in funding the health sector.
Abayomi, who was represented by the director, Health Care Planning, Research, and Statistics of the ministry, Emmanuela Zamba, said the donation would improve health outcomes and quality of care at LASUTH.
“The gesture from the Olalekan Ogunsola Memorial Foundation shows the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, from the beginning of this administration, has made it obvious that he will develop the health sector, but the government cannot do it alone. We welcome all support to improve health outcomes and quality of care that we provide to our citizens,” Abayomi said.
Adetokunbo Fabamwo, the chief medical director of LASUTH, appreciated the Ogunsola family and described the effort as a giant leap in helping the hospital achieve its goals.
