President Buhari has taken the lead in four out of the five states announced by INEC. The states include Ekiti, Osun, Kwara and Nasarawa, while Atiku Abubakar won in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
Thugs on Sunday night set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
INEC has announced the results in Ekiti State, APC polled 219,231 to defeat PDP which had 154,031, margin of 65,199.
INEC has commenced the announcement of results in the various states of the federation. Ekiti State is calling out the results collated in the state.
President Muhammadu Buhari has taken the lead in Kaduna State from the results of 11 local government areas collated so far. He polled 362,337 votes against 254,909 by his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of PDP.
APC’s senatorial candidate, Oluremi Tinubu has been declared winner of the Lagos Central senatorial elections. State collation officer, Prof Oyeyemi Elijah declared her the winner after polling 131,725 to beat her main challenger in the PDP who had 89,107. Candidate of the ADC got 1,949.
From results collated so far, PDP has won ten local government areas in Benue State, while APC took the remaining 4.
The total results collated so far gives PDP a total score of 182,968 against 134,208 for the APC.
President Muhammadu Buhari has left his residence in Daura, Katsina after participating in the Saturday election. He is expected back in Abuja later today.
PDP’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is leading in Adamawa State after collation of fourteen local governments. The results is being announced by state collation officer, Prof Haruna Dahiru, VC Federal University, Gashuwa.
The results trickling in shows that Buhari and have an even share of the 14 local governments so far as both claimed seven governments each.

Ekere who is from Ikot Abasi local government area did not win in his stronghold failing to deliver the required numbers votes that would have earned his party victory in the presidential election.

The PDP has polled the most votes at the DSS quarters, Abuja garnering 116 to APC’s 46. This is as the APC candidate came out tops at the ward of Jimi Agabeje, PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State.
PDP candidate garnered 84 votes, Buhari who ran under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed with 73.
INEC has said it was satisfied with the conduct of the election even though it also confirmed cases of violence and ballot box snatching in some areas leading to the disruption of the process.
PDP Presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar has lost his unit to President Buhari who is seeking re-election under APC. According to results from the polling unit where the former vice president voted earlier today, Yola North, Ajiwa Ward, PDP polled 120 against APC’s 187. ADC came third with 28 votes.
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has lost his polling unit to President Buhari. According to results witnessed by our correpspondent APC polled 87 votes to beat PDP’s 18.
INEC has cancelled the elections in Rivers State Bonny Local Government Area after voting failed to take off there today over widespread electoral violence.
Some polling units have began to announce the results collated so far. The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, polled 52 votes to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, who got 48 votes at the polling unit of APC gubernatorial candidate Sanwo-Olu.
INEC has extended the voting hours from 2pm to give people in centers where the process began very late to perform their civic responsibility. In Kano where many late cases have been reported, voters are voting very peacefully says BusinessDay correspondent.
Voters at centres in Amuwo Odofin, Surulere, Ago Palace and Okota have been forced to run for their dear lives as thugs snatch and burn ballot boxes. Several people have also been reported injured as they attempt to engage the hoodlums. Agents of the ruling party APC and the main opposition PDP are blaming each for the growing incidences.
Pockets of violence are also being reported in Rivers State as thugs invade polling units to snatch ballot boxes.
Voting has been concluded and counting is about to begin at the polling unit of APC Lagos gubernatorial candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lateef Jakande/Femi Okunnu Ward 019, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Voting has also ended in polling unit 001A Karu, Abuja.
An eye witness in another centre in Akure, Ondo said “Election concluded in Ward 08 PU 029, Akure South. The official in charge just told us now that they forgot “election material that they will use to count the vote” The INEC official with the NSCDC Staff has left the polling unit now to get the material.”
Another eye witness in an unidentified polling centre narrated “Thought they were suppose to count the votes at thepolling unit. They just finished voting in a polling unit close to mine and they took the ballot boxes and drove off. I really don’t know how this thing works anymore.”
Eye witnesses say thugs are snatching ballot boxes at Ago Palace and Okota areas of Lagos. At both units the boxes were burnt. The crowd caught one of the thugs and beat him near death before police men arrived.
An eye witness at a polling unit in Surulere said “We have been disenfranchised by thugs at our polling unit, Lagos, Surulere, Aguda with Polling Unit Number 24-20-02-051. Thugs came and forced us out, beat an elderly man and asked us to go back to the east to vote.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that several supporters of the party were being intimidated from participating in the election by hoodlums suspected to be working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State was unable to get accredited at his Agassa Uvete Unit 11 polling Unit, Okene LG, due to a faulty card reader machine.
Bello, who along with his wives, Rasheeda and Amina, stood on the queue for over an hour, while INEC officials went in frantic search for a replacement reader machine, expressed his disappointment at the development.
He however expressed the hope that his was an isolated case.
“I am disappointed at INEC, and I hope my own is an isolated case,” he said.
NEC as at the time of filing this story had secured a replacement, and the governor was able to cast his vote.

Several polling units are experiencing late commencement of voting as INEC officials are not seen and voters are waiting in frustration. At a polling unit at Area 2, Section 2, there is a long queue of voters but election is yet to commence at 9:14.

No attack in Borno, Police says
The Nigerian police has issued a statement denying that the sound of heavy gunfire heard around Maiduguri metropolis was connected to terrorist attack.
The Commissioner of Police Borno State, CP Damian Chukwu said there was no attack on any part of the state and hence no threat to public peace and order.
“The gunfire was not targeted at members of the public was for security purpose,” he said in a statement.

In Asaba, as at 8.20am, election materials yet to arrive INEC’S registration centres (RAC) IN Oshimili South LGA. Distribution of election materials were ongoing at Ahabam Primary School as well as Uzoigwe Primary School. NYSC members who slept at the centres were seen waiting to collect materials so as to move on to their various polling stations. A good number of the voters were already waiting for election to start.
