Lawrence Emareyo: The Continuous Rise Of An Empire

Chief Lawrence Okohwake Emareyo needs no much introduction as his achievement speaks volumes of him.

Born February 4, 1987, the Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist is the Chairman of Ibila Empire, IBILA Information Technology institute, IBILA Transportation line and logistics, IBILA Farms, IBILA Dredging Company and founder of the Lawrence Emareyo Foundation.

The well respected business tycoon holds Honorary Doctorate Degree with ‘Leaders Without Borders Development Centre’, United Arab Emirates.

Born in Ughelli Delta State, Nigeria in 1987, Emareyo, during his early career, worked as the House Keeping Manager at Excel Hotel and Golden Tulip Hotels respectively. In 2014 he took employment with the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as an Aviation Security Officer.

Being someone who had a knack for owning a business, while still in this employment he saved up to pursue his passion, starting out with a block factory and a fish farm, with one bag of cement and one fish pond- a handful of fingerlings- from which he built his fortune.

With diligence and faith in his little beginning he has been able to expand that mushroom achievement to the empire now known as IBILA.

Following his retirement from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as an Aviation Security officer in October 2017, Emareyo founded the Lawrence Emareyo Foundation, a Non-profit organization.

His objective was to help Nigerians, assist them with tending to their momentary needs and to create abilities they can use to improve their occupation and economic development by enhancing the competitiveness of the Nigeria/African private sector.

Ibila Empire is an economic philosophy that embodies the private sector’s commitment to the economic transformation of Nigeria through long-term skill acquisition/entrepreneurship and innovation courses that create both economic prosperity and social wealth.

Lawrence Emareyo sees Nigerians taking charge of the value-adding sectors and ensuring that those value-added processes happen in Nigeria, not through nationalization or government policies, but because there is a generation of private sector entrepreneurs who have the vision, the tools and the opportunity to shape the destiny of the continent.

In 2019 Unique Global Peace Initiative of Nigeria, granted Chief Lawrence Emareyo the title of Peace Ambassador of Nigeria and Amnesty International.

He was awarded as Africa most Celebrated Philanthropist/International youth influencer of the year award on February 28, 2018, by One Africa foundation.
