Promasidor Nigeria Limited has announced the appointment of Francois Gillet as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2024.
Francois succeeds Bruno Gruwez, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside the Promasidor Group, a statement said.
He joins Promasidor Nigeria from Danone, where he served as General Manager in Réunion. Before his tenure at Danone, he had a long career as a General Manager with Lactalis (a world leader in dairy) in Algeria and Brazil.
Francois is a seasoned executive with extensive international experience and a proven track record of driving business growth and profitability in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, particularly in emerging markets.
Anders Einarsson, Chief Executive Officer at Promasidor Group, describes the new CEO, Francois, as a perfect fit for the job – ‘’His expertise spans organisational leadership, strategic analysis, business model development, and commercial management, making him ideally suited to lead Promasidor Nigeria’s next phase of growth’’, the statement further said.
A French national, Francois holds a Master’s in Business Administration from ESCP Business School. He is married with children.
Promasidor was founded in 1979 by Robert Rose, who left the United Kingdom in 1957 to pursue his African dream in Zimbabwe. Since then, Promasidor has expanded its presence to several African countries. Promasidor Nigeria commenced operations in 1993 and has achieved remarkable growth over the years.
