Following increasing customers’ quest for unique colours for architectural perfection, Portland Paints and Products Nigeria plc, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria plc, has opened its Sandtex Paints experience centre (SPEC) on Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
The paint solution centre equipped with adequate technology would provide a broader range of colours to customers for both commercial and individual building projects.
The commissioning of the centre recently is coming at the heels of Portland Paints’ current growth drive, which has been marked by the expansion and upgrading of the company’s factory and retail trade capacity with the installation of the first ‘In-Plant and Point of Sale (PoS) Colour Tinting’ technology in the Nigerian paint industry.
Speaking at the event, Olufemi Oguntade, managing director/CEO of Portland Paints, said the introduction of the in-plant tinting system at the factory and the PoS system at the retail outlet would provide a broader range of colours to the customers.
“Portland Paints was desirous to improve speed to the market and give more colour solutions to its customers as obtainable in the developed economy. The company is committed to delivering exceptional value to all our customers through our Sandtex flagship brand. Customers will now enjoy up to 1,000 more colours, with improved products that come in new, modern and attractive packaging which will be available within minutes at our newly upgraded experience centres; all these are geared towards satisfying our customers who are key to the growth of our business,” according to Oguntade.
He explained that the centre was a journey of about four years, achieved in collaboration with Kansai Colourant of South Africa and Whitex Nigeria Limited.
The Portland Paints CEO informed the guests, which included architects, building engineers, painters and distributors, that all existing conventional depots of the company were currently undergoing a major facelift nationwide and would be upgraded to Sandtex paint experience centres so that all customers can be provided with colour solutions in a trendy, sophisticated and convenient environment.
