Mouka Nigeria, manufacturer of mattresses in Nigeria’s foam and bedding space has once again been awarded the Mattress manufacturing company of the year at the 2017 edition of The Guardian Manufacturing Excellence Award. The event was held by The Guardian in partnership with Africa Development Studies Centre (ASDC) to recognize distinguished sector players in the manufacturing industry in Nigeria
The Guardian Manufacturing Award, according to the publisher of The Guardian Newspapers, Maiden Alex-Ibru, is designed to recognize the distinguished sector players in the manufacturing industry who have consistently outperformed despite prevailing economic conditions in the country. She said Nigeria’s manufacturing sector has been bedevilled with several challenges in recent times and spite of these challenges, some manufacturing companies have continued to deliver high-quality products.

Responding to the award, the Managing Director of Mouka, Raymond Murphy said in a statement the name, Mouka, is synonymous with top quality. He said the award is a confirmation of Mouka’s dedication and commitment to quality over the years. Murphy added that the company has an extensive distribution network across the country with more than 1000 branded sales outlets, and over 250 third party distributors, He added that Mouka has production facility in the South West, South East and the Northern part of the country.
The Technical Director, Emmanuel Eze also mentioned in the statement that Mouka has put in place Best manufacturing practices and standards to ensure consistent quality of all Mouka brands. He said the company has implemented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies in all his manufacturing plants. Eze added that the company is also successfully implementing ISO audits of all its plants by the Standard Organisation of Nigeria.
The Marketing Director, Ronke Osho said the award is another recognition of the company’s commitment and passion to add comfort to the lives of Nigerians by providing high quality of mattress and pillows that offer superior body support and comfort. She said Mouka will not relent in its efforts to ensure that Nigerians wake up to feeling good every time they sleep on Mouka foam.
