As the world today marks Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, telecommunications giant, Globacom, has felicitated with Christians in Nigeria calling on them to foster greater love and peace in the country in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Globacom, in a goodwill message issued in Lagos on Thursday, encouraged Christians to be mindful of the real essence of Christmas, which, according to the company, is the celebration of the love of God for mankind demonstrated through the birth of Jesus Christ whose teachings on peace still resonate more than 2000 years after his birth.

“Christ manifested in human form to show the love of God towards mankind. His love for the human race is typified by the sacrifice He made by leading man back to God. Jesus made himself a perfect exemplar of the values of love, humility, kindness, righteous living and fruits of the spirit which would guarantee eternal life”, Globacom added.

In the same vein, the company charged Nigerians to be liberal during the Yuletide by sharing their material possessions with the needy to mitigate the effect of the prevailing economic condition on fellow citizens adding that sharing is a cardinal principle of Christianity.

Globacom equally called on all Nigerians to allow the birth of the Prince of Peace to engender progress and amity in the society through good neighbourliness, selflessness and unity.

While recalling that Christmas is also the celebration of the advent of Jesus Christ, the total telecommunications service provider encouraged Nigerians to do unto others what they want to be done to themselves to make heaven.

“As we celebrate Christmas, let us prepare for the second coming of Christ in our acts and deeds and in caring for our loved ones and neighbours”, the company stressed.
