Cyber crime: Nigeria hosts first CyberXchange  conference

Cyber Security is a vital topic that companies and its CEOs can’t undermine. As it ensures keeping the company and client ecosystems safe. In an era of ever growing interconnections across our digital devices, information safety only deserves paramount attention. Lagos, Nigeria has addressed the lingering threat by hosting the biggest holistic cyber security event in West Africa, the CyberXchange Conference 2016.

As a direct response to the present challenge in West Africa, the CyberXchange Conference 2016 is a a global convergence of Information Security professionals which will hold at the Landmark Event Centre, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos on the 2nd and 3rd November. The conference seeks to identify the key trends and technologies in Cyber Security; emerging from diverse industries such as Finance, Payments, e-commerce, Banking, Telecommunications, Law enforcement, Oil and Gas, Insurance, Digital Media, Energy, and emerging start-up companies.

Spanning two days, carefully curated topics will be discussed by leading executives, renowned professionals, government officials and a cross-section stakeholders to examine current cyber security trends to produce tangible solutions.

Speaking on the conference, Hashim Zein, resident conference consultant said, “the CyberXchange 2016 Conference is part of our effort to aggregate the views of Information Security stakeholders and drive its practical applications”. “There will also be a Hackathon session at the conference. This is aimed at developing the capacity of budding information security professionals.” He added.

According to Facebook, sponsors of the Hackathon,“We hope to discover new talent, and ideas; and to encourage development in the field of information security. It is our hope that besides discovering gifted hackers and cyber-defenders, the  Cyberxchange 2016 Hackathon will inspire the development of West Africa’s Information Security  Professionals.’’

Workshops will be available alongside the conference on both days for practical ready-to-use training for IT security professionals and a unique Master-class for chief executives to get a handle on cyber security at their organizations.

As for the free attendee exhibition which runs on both days, select schools offering cyber security programs will be on hand at the exhibition to meet interested candidates.
