I can transform ya, I can transform ya, anything you want, I can get it for ya… It’s a hit song by R&B superstar Chris Brown. The first time I laid eyes on an ASUS Transformer Book T100, I just could not get that song out of my head. A tablet with the ability to transform into a notebook when the need arises, all thanks a keyboard dock, simply amazing!

For all you free spirited folks out there, who won’t be pinned down, this device is for you. At first glance it looks a lot like an old-school netbook. But you can remove the screen and use the Transformer Book T100 as a touchscreen tablet with up to 11 hours of battery life. Not bad for a device that will sell for just N85,000.

A lot of people are in two minds about either purchasing a laptop or a tablet.

With the Transformer Book T100, you can have both in one device. “The ASUS Transformer Book T100 is the perfect transformation of the Eee PC with full compatibility, detachable touch screen, immersive entertainment and enough battery for all-day computing,” said ASUS chairman Jonney Shih. “It is truly a game-changer for our mobile lifestyle.” Only recently, I got a chance to spend a few minutes with the Transformer Book T100, and though, it’s definitely not going to replace a high-end ultrabook, indeed, this little guy packs a punch and seems like it could be a winner in the affordable portable space.

The ASUS Transformer Book T100 features a two-part dock able design that combines the productivity features of a laptop with the portability of a tablet and the flexibility to switch between the two in an instant. It is a 10.1-inch ultraportable with an Intel® Atom™ ‘Bay Trail’ quad-core processor and detachable HD display than can be used as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet. Featuring a sleek design and durable finish, Transformer Book T100 is not only one of the lightest ultra portables currently available at just 1.07kg, but also one of the lightest 10-inch tablets around, at 550g.

Transformer Book T100 features the new Intel® Atom™ Bay Trail-T Z3740 quad-core processor for smooth multi-tasking performance and incredible energy efficiency that can last up to 11 hours on battery power. The lightweight keyboard dock features precision-engineered keys designed for comfortable extended use, a multi-touch touchpad with full Windows 8.1 gesture support and USB 3.0. Just 10.5mm thin, Transformer Book T100 features a brilliant HD 10.1-inch tablet IPS multi-touch display with wide 178-degree viewing angles and razor-sharp images.

The Transformer Book comes with a two-year warranty and also a with pre-installed Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013, full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, the perfect productivity solution for both school and work. Transformer Book T100 was launched across Africa in Lagos Nigeria on Wednesday 13th November 2013. ASUS the third largest PC manufacturers in the world, a worldwide top-three consumer notebook vendor and maker of the world’s best-selling and most award winning motherboards through consistent leadership in innovation and steady climb in brand value was recently recognised as the No 1 in the 2013 Taiwan Global Brands Value Survey. ASUS is a leading enterprise in the new digital era.
