2023 battle for young people – APC Youth leader

APC

The Youth Representative in the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Caretaker Committee, Ismail Ahmed has declared that the 2023 general election is going to be a battle for the young people.

Ahmed made the declaration at the inauguration of various Committees for the forthcoming first National Progressives Youth Conference in Abuja.

He observed that President Muhammadu Buhari always win with 10 million votes in every election he participated in but in 2023, he will not be on the ballot which means APC has to go scouting for those 10 million votes elsewhere.

The APC Youth Leader said the best Buhari can give to APC in 2023 would be 50% of his usual 10 million votes (5 million) and the remaining 5 million votes reside with the young people and women, hence they must demand what is going to them in the next dispensation.

On the proposed APC National Youth Conference, Ahmed said: “It’s the biggest thing we have done as young people in this progressive movement since the beginning in 2013, that we are going to have an exclusive youth national conference. Is going to be a two days conference where alot of substantive things and politics are going to be discussed, our road map, vision, demands and what we feel that the APC should be and what is already is!

“This is a significant event we want to hold because the process and platform for the future is been laid and all of you have been carefully chosen for your track record and because you are all progressive in thinking. Some of you I know personally, some I don’t but who ever that is nominated here, we believe is coming with a certain mindset of progressivism”.
