Samuel Ogunyooye: Leaving a legacy of positive change

In an era where digital platforms dominate the media landscape, there are individuals who not only adapt to change but also spearhead it.

Samuel Ogunyooye, a name that has become synonymous with innovation and impact, is a media entrepreneur, pastor, and visionary founder of Cheser Media.

With a passion for leveraging the power of media to impact lives, Samuel Ogunyooye has carved out a unique path, blending his entrepreneurial prowess with spiritual leadership.

Shedding light on how his journey began in the media, he said: “I made my career debut at the Guardian Newspapers. Being in the editorial department, I started out as a reporter on the features desk and from there, I moved to the political desk and thereafter to the Supplements and Special Projects unit of the Advertising department.

“After about close to a decade, I left the journalism terrain and moved to the banking sector. My first port of call in the banking industry was the Corporate Affairs department and Brand Management departments of the Global Bank which later became Intercontinental Bank Plc.

“The ministry call however came in for me in May, 2012. It was through the divine plans and the call of God, that I found myself in the ministry and to fulfill the dreams that he could be on the wings while watching the events in the C & S Church.

“Like a reluctant and unwilling messenger of the gospel, I became a Paul who was more or less divinely pulled by God into ministry whereby I founded the Glory of God Cherubim and Seraphim Church”.

But Samuel Ogunyooye’s endeavors extend far beyond the boundaries of leadership.

He also opens up on the mission and vision of Cheser Media. “Cheser is a short form of Cherubim and Seraphim which is also the name of the church. So adding it up with the word media equals ‘Cheser Media’.

It is a brand and a platform from where all our innovations and ideas spring up from. Its mission is to promote the cause and mandate of the Cherubim and Seraphim by giving Seraphs the deserving exposure and to support their cause as it pertains to the church. This aligns with our values which are anchored on discovering and raising musical talents in the church”.

On the legacy he wants to leave behind, Ogunyooye said: “I want to leave a legacy of a positive change that people in their wildest imagination never expected could come to reality. And also, I want to make sure it is etched in the hearts of people and generations yet unborn.”
