Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau state has approved a minor reshuffle of his cabinet to enhance effective service delivery to citizens of the state.

Under the new dispensation, Noel Nkup, the current Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, will now serve as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.

Similarly, Bashir Lawandi Datti, who previously held the position of Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has been reassigned as the Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy.

A statement signed by Gyang Bere, Mutfwang’s Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPA), made available to Journalists on Tuesday night in Jos, says the changes take immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Mutfwang has also approved the appointment of Stephen Pam Gadong as the acting Head of Civil Service (HOS) in Plateau State. The appointment takes effect from 26th August, 2024.

This follows the retirement of Rauta Joshua Dakok, who reached the mandatory retirement age of 60 on 24th August 2024. Gadong, who previously served as Permanent Secretary, Cabinet, and Special Services, will be sworn in by the Governor on a date to be announced.

Governor Mutfwang, in a statement, by Gyang Bere, expressed his profound appreciation to Dakok for her dedication and commitment to quality reforms in the civil service.

He commended Dakok for her steadfast support in ensuring effective service delivery that has significantly contributed to the growth and development of Plateau State.

As she retires from active service, the Governor extended his best wishes to Dakok and encouraged her to continue offering her invaluable counsel as the state strives towards building a more productive and transparent civil service.
