Lawmaker pledges timely implementation of 35% salary increase

Sani Musa, the Senator representing Niger East, and chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, pledged the National Assembly’s support for the timely implementation of the 35% workers’ salaries increase by President Bola Tinubu.

Musa, in a message to commemorate the 2024 May Day Celebrations, also known as Workers’ Day globally, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for approving the salary increment for Nigerian workers.

The lawmaker also commended the resilience of Nigerian workers and urged them to remain patient with the administration of President Tinubu, noting that tough decisions are being made for the benefit of all Nigerians.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by Nigerian workers, including the high cost of food items, increased electricity tariffs and expensive petrol prices.

Despite these difficulties, Musa assured workers that the 10th Senate, under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio, will take necessary actions to improve their welfare and that of the Nigerian populace.
