Barely a month after its official release, the Bling Lagosians has made a staggering N103,049,908 at the box office. The movie, which was released to critical acclaim on June 28, has proved to be a commercial success with these numbers.
In her directorial debut, Bolanle Austen-Peters joins an exclusive league of five other movie directors in the history of Nollywood who have pulled in this domestic gross. This marks a win too for BAP Productions, founded by Austen-Peters. It’s also a box-office hit for most of the cast, including Toyin Abraham, Jide Kosoko, Bisola Aiyeola, Denola Grey, Monalisa Chinda, Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade, Sharon Ooja, Helen Paul and Alex Ekubo.
With this domestic gross, the movie becomes one of only nine Nigerian movies that have surpassed the one hundred million naira mark at the box office and the first movie to hit these numbers in 2019. With several weeks to run and crowds still flocking to cinemas all over Nigeria, these numbers will continue to soar.
