Movie Review- Mad About You

Mad About You

All though they didn’t have loads of publicity and there were a good number of people in the cinema that evening, which wasn’t bad at all. The movie was like a typical basic Nigerian movie, there was absolutely nothing outstanding about this one. The movie told a story about a young actor proposing to his girlfriend who was also an upcoming actress. It was funny how they knew nothing about each other, till after the engagement. There was nothing fantastic about the movie except for a few lessons learnt.

The movie was directed by Victor Okpala. The production and cinematography was bare, basic costumes and a very plain storyline, sincerely I felt, there was enough room for improvement. I really didn’t like the way they ended the movie and I expected so much.

Like every typical story the movie started with a surprise scene where Blossom was out on the beach with his girlfriend, suddenly he went down on one kneel to propose. Although shocked, she said yes. I was kind of scared that she would say No, but I guess I was wrong, Immediately after the proposal she started thinking of wedding plans, she wanted a grand wedding. She had a big issue with one of her friends or will I call her a colleague in the industry, who was doing better than she was. Every time Dammy did something Blossoms girlfriend also wanted to do same or out shine her, but the honest truth was that Dammy wasn’t even interested in her life.

She was extremely competitive, when Dammy went to a new and expensive restaurant, she made sure she went there too. When Dammy bought a new Range Rover, she wanted her boyfriend to buy one for her too. When Dammy got engaged and threw a big engagement party, she decided to throw one too despite the fact that it was 2 months after the proposal. It was at this point her “Fiancé” totally gave up on her. She was so greedy, selfish and negatively competitive with everyone and anyone, he just couldn’t deal anymore.

You will need to watch the entire movie to see how she ruined her relationship and her life due to her negligence and terrible behavior.

To my verdict I would score this movie a 5/10, it was extremely basic and plain and I am scoring them based on their efforts, nothing more. There were quite a number of errors and loop holes and I really couldn’t lay my hands on what I really liked about the movie. You can give this movie a try, but that would be on your own recommendation.
