Lagos, 28th of June 2019- Tecno Spark 3, a smartphone model by Tecno, Africa’s leading smartphone brand, has been awarded as the smartphone brand of the year at the 2019 edition of the Africa Information Technology & Telecoms Awards (AITTA).
Held at the at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra Ghana on 28th June 2019, the AITTA has been acclaimed as one of the most prestigious platform recognising excellence and innovation in the African telecoms and technology industry.
The Tecno Spark 3 was awarded as the phone of the year as a result of its cuttingedge features as well as its outing market outing positive reception of the Tecno brand loyals and customers.
Commenting on the award, Jeff Tang, Marketing Manager of Tecno Nigeria said: ” We dedicate this award to every member of the team at Tecno Mobile because of our believe that ‘together we can do more’. The award also buttressed a recent report by Counterpoint which revealed that Tecno mobile series dominated the Nigerian market with 31% of the total market share, standing it out as the number one smartphone brand of Nigerians and by extension, Africa.
Entering the Nigerian market in 2007 with its first phone called T205. Tecno pioneered the first dual SIM smartphone in Nigeria, a feature that was ‘badly’ needed in a market where owning a dual SIM device is a necessity due inordinate to mobile carrier coverage across the country.
