Former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko has tasked government at all levels to prioritise the security of lives and property of all Nigerians where they live, work and play.
He said tackling insecurity was beyond arms and ammunition, as it requires political will and every political leader must develop sustainable strategies and the political will to tackle insecurity at this trying period of the nation.
Mimiko, who spoke through his special assistant on media, John Paul Akinduro while rejoicing with the Muslim faithful over the recently celebrated 2021 Eid-el-Fitr, said the government must address the widening inequality, mass poverty and high level of illiteracy.
The former governor also tasked the government to restructure the existing system in order to give room for equitable distribution of resources across the states.
He, however, advised Nigerians to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to security agents nearest to them and admonished every Muslim to share with the needy and show love towards people of other faith.
